The spot is particularly popular for its expansive shallow waters on the Laguna Madre side, which are ideal for beginners and freestyle riders. On the Gulf side, you’ll find small to moderate waves that attract more advanced kitesurfers looking for variety.
The water is generally warm, especially from late spring through early fall, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 30°C (72°F to 86°F). The flatwater areas are calm and consistent, with very little chop on most days, while the Gulf offers moderate wave action depending on the swell.
