The predominant wind is the Breva, a thermal wind that develops from the south as the land heats up during the day. The Breva typically begins to build around midday, becoming kiteable in the early afternoon and often lasting until sunset. Wind speeds are generally moderate and steady, supporting freeride, freestyle, and foil disciplines. The wind direction is predominantly side-onshore, which is optimal for both safety and ease of return to shore.

The Breva’s reliability is highest from May to September, when stable, sunny weather patterns prevail. On days with strong thermal gradients, the wind can reach higher strengths, providing powerful and sustained sessions. The launch area at Cremia, especially near San Vito beach, is sandy and gently sloping, making water entry and exit straightforward. Water conditions are typically flat to slightly choppy, with minimal wave formation due to the shallow entry and protection from the surrounding landscape. These characteristics make Cremia suitable for both technical maneuvers and relaxed cruising.

Occasionally, Cremia may experience the Tivano, a northerly wind that can blow in the morning, bringing cross-shore or slightly offshore conditions. The Tivano is less predictable and generally lighter than the Breva, and sessions under this wind require advanced awareness of local weather changes. After storms or rapid pressure shifts, gustier and less consistent winds may occur, best handled by experienced riders. There is no tidal influence, and currents are negligible, further enhancing the spot’s accessibility.
